Nearing the end of February and it feels like 2020 is just flying by. Hard to believe that Spring is already on our doorstep and that Summer is not too far behind it. In light of the warmer weather and extended daylight hours upon us, it is time to start thinking about restoring order to your patio space. Here are some of our favorite tips and tricks on how to get the back porch tidied up without spending an entire day dedicated to the cleaning process.

1. Sweep before spraying. Take to the broom before the hose, once your back porch is hosed down it becomes harder to get the leaves and dirt out. So be sure to do a thorough sweeping job before brining out the pressure washer.

2. Consider a wet-mop. If you have a wood plank back deck or live in a salty environment this is a good idea for you.  Use an eco-friendly all-purpose cleaner or dish soap to really work those dirt and grime spots away. Be sure to finish off with a heavy spray down before leaving to dry.

3. Hose down furniture and cushions. While you may be hesitant to douse your nice patio furniture with water, you will be happy in the end that you did. Sunbrella fabrics used on your cushions are designed to be wet and dry quickly while wicker, aluminum, and teak furniture products are all-weather proof and will shine when the winter layer of dirt and dust has vanished from the frames.

Your outdoor space is sure to be sparkling after putting a little elbow grease into it. Stay tuned for more Spring porch preparation tips and tricks!
